St John's the Evangelist: New suite of unique screenprints

Fiona Grady has created a series of 12 unique screenprints in 5 layers of overlapping translucent colours. They are inspired by her research into stained glass window designs. The decorative window shape is a nod to the elaborated stained glass windows at St John's the Evangelist church, the oldest in Leeds City Centre, where she has been working on her "Patterns Throught Time" artwork.

The colours in this series of works on paper reference the bright and glowing coloured glass used in the windows of the churches. They are a mixture of palettes using cool blues and greens, flashes of tropical orange and contrasting reds and blues. The layering of translucent colours add a complexity and depth of tone to designs.
