Fiona Grady is exhibiting as part of Definitions of Drawing II at Sunny Bank Mills. The second incarnation of the exhibition, curated by Courtney Spencer, brings together the work of artists who interrogate the medium of drawing through their practices. The artworks utilise a wide range of mediums, both traditional and unexpected techniques, to challenge our understanding of what contemporary drawing practices can look like.
Featuring artworks by artists - Andy Black, Fiona Grady, Jan Hopkins, Jessica Akerman, Jia Xi Li, Kate Black, Kimbal Bumstead, Lesley Hicks, Lothar Götz, Rufus Newell, Saima Kaur, Sarah Roberts.
Fiona is presenting Rays of Light a new series of copper foil glass panels. The artworks take inspiration from motifs of moving clusters of triangles, typical of my vinyl installations, however using a range of textured glass shapes. The panels are activated by daylight to highlight the character of the glass and cast coloured shadows into the surrounding space to draw with light.
