Beyond Colours From Life: First White Cloth Hall, Leeds
The Art Court is collaborating with the Yorkshire-based property developers Rushbond to take on the absolutely stunning First White Cloth Hall on Kirkgate in Leeds City Centre.
The Grade II* list building was first opened in 1711 as a covered hall for traders to sell undyed (white) cloth. Much of it had recently stood derelict until the Rushbond Group bought it and restored the building.
The first exhibition Beyond Colours From Life will present a selection of contemporary artists who explore colour in their art practices. Bringing a striking contrast to the historic space which was once centred around the trading of white cloth. Featuring artists: Helen Dryden, Michelle Duxbury, Andy Edwards, Hondartza Fraga, Fiona Grady, Jonathan Hooper, Phill Hopkins, Lorna Johnson, Sarah Roberts, Court Spencer
