Created for 'The Factory Project' at a former sugar factory in East London Docklands.
Organised during Frieze week The Factory Project is an independent museum-scale exhibition, showcasing the work of 10 curatorial partners and over 110 artists.

Fiona Grady co-curated and exhibited in the hugely popular Factory Project in East London organised by Thorp / Stavri. The Recreational Grounds curatorial platform is directed by Fiona Grady, Anna Lytridou and Tim Ralston. They invited artists Charley Peters, Will Cruickshank, Ben Deakin, Amba Sayal-Bennett, Ralph Hunter-Menzies, Susan Jacobs and Juliette Mahieux Bartoli to join them in the latest edition of their itinerant project. The Recreational Grounds exhibition sits in the vast former sugar warehouse - it includes site responsive artworks that reflect the material nature of the venue and take on the challenges of the scale of the site.

Fiona Grady collaborated with painter Charley Peters to create a joint artwork A Line of X's which is composed from 14 hanging perspex crosses. The images are composed from photographic details of the floor and wall textures in the disused former Tate & Lyle factory. The images have been treated with a gradient fade and printed onto vinyl backings for the 'x' shapes.

To find out more about the project - listen to Fiona Grady and Anna Lytridou's interview with Gary Mansfield for Episode 148 The Ministry of Arts podcast here.
