Fiona Grady was commissioned by Glenvale Park LLP and NN Contemporary Art to created site-responsive artworks for a new primary school in Wellingborough. The Glenvale Park Public Art Commission selection process, led by NN Contemporary Art acting as Public Art Consultant, was rigorous and inclusive, involving a panel of local members, school representatives, councillors, and the Mayor of Wellingborough. Their collective expertise and community insight ensured that the chosen artist resonated deeply with the aspirations and values of the new Wellingborough community at Glenvale Park.

Polygon Flow is an installation of suspended transparent perspex shapes that create a mobile in the main foyer of The Glenvale School. Each strand is a shuffle of six different shapes: circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, pentagons and hexagons in six colours that all relate to each other proportionately. The designs explore how in early years we taught to interpret surrounding world through the use of shape and colour. Colourful shapes are often give to children as toys, such building blocks, Lego, and slot games, through play we begin break down forms and to understand how things fit together.

The suspended shapes transform the foyer into a captivating space casting colourful shadows and engaging viewers inside and outside the building. By fostering playfulness and curiosity, the artwork will enhance students' engagement with maths, science and art, while also providing a visual delight for local residents, particularly at night with the interplay of light and shadow.
