Spectra Waves, 2019
Site-specific vinyl window installation
Dimensions 3.7 m x 25 m (approx)
Created for ‘Spectra Waves’ solo exhibition at The University of Brighton North Gallery, Brighton.
‘Spectra Waves’ speaks to the passing of time. A complex work of light and colour, Grady created a ‘stained glass’ for the North Gallery transforming interior space using the changing patterns of light and encouraging visitors to pause and observe the passage of time manifested in the changing installation. At night Grady’s work was lit from within the gallery to create a unique temporary public artwork for the city. The title of the piece references both the physical form of the work itself and the splitting of light required to make colour visible.
